Terms of Service
The practical rules that apply to a HomeShield maintenance membership.
This customer-facing summary is provided for clarity. Additional business and provider details will be added only after they are confirmed.
Membership scope
HomeShield is a maintenance membership, not a home warranty, insurance product, or repair guarantee.
Plans cover planning, reminders, scheduling support, and eligible included services as stated for the selected plan. Repairs, parts, materials, emergency work, damage remediation, unsafe-condition work, and permit-required work are excluded unless separately quoted.
Digital Membership plan and reminder controls
HomeShield Digital Membership provides maintenance planning tools, not service visits, provider discounts, priority scheduling, inspections, or labor.
Calendar members can edit task timing, reminder preferences, HVAC filter details, and recurring task notes. Task notes are carried forward to the next occurrence when a task is completed and can be edited or removed. Automated reminder delivery is not represented as active unless HomeShield enables the applicable service.
Consent and communication preferences
Email and text preferences are separate and optional.
Text-message preferences are unchecked by default. If you opt in, you provide express written consent for recurring automated maintenance and service messages where messaging is enabled; consent is not a condition of purchase, and message and data rates may apply. You may change preferences at any time. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help once an SMS program is active.
Accrual, reset, and service area
Included services accrue monthly over the membership year, reset on the anniversary date, and do not roll over.
A plan covers one enrolled single-family residence in an active ZIP. Benefits are not a same-day service contract. Additional properties require additional memberships, and homes with more than two HVAC systems may require a coverage review.
Scheduling and access
Services are by appointment during standard business hours and weather permitting.
Priority scheduling means members are placed ahead of non-members in the queue; it is not a guaranteed response time. Safe ladder placement and clear access to relevant areas are required. Blocked or unsafe access may require rescheduling.
Provider relationship
Work requiring a licensed trade is performed only by appropriately licensed and insured third-party providers or referred out.
HomeShield does not imply that non-licensed maintenance work is licensed trade work. Service capacity, provider availability, and weather may affect scheduling.
Billing, cancellation, and disputes
Memberships are billed monthly and automatically renew until cancelled. Cancellation is self-service and effective at the end of the paid month.
No refunds are provided for partial months unless required by law or otherwise stated at purchase. Unused annual allotments are forfeited at cancellation. Missouri law governs these terms, subject to applicable consumer protections. Detailed dispute and damage-claim procedures will be provided when purchasing opens.
